Surrounded by individuals representing many of the nation’s top insulation contractors, Aaron Calvert of Rockweiler Insulation received the ExCEEd on the Job Installer of the Year Award at the Owens Corning Certified Energy Expert National Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. Calvert is the first installer in the country to receive this esteemed recognition.

ExCEEd on the Job recognizes insulation installers who go above and beyond to ensure excellence with each project. As part of ExCEEd on the Job, contractors from across the country nominate installers who excel in the workplace. A committee designated by the Certified Energy Expert program selects two award winners each quarter. The Installer of the Year is then chosen from those candidates. Along with an all-expenses-paid trip to the CEE National Meeting, the award winner receives $1,000.

This exclusive recognition underscores Rockweiler Insulation’s exceptional industry leadership. With support from the Owens Corning Certified Energy Expert program, Rockweiler rigorously trains its employees on the latest building science strategies and innovations. By recognizing employees for their hard work, Rockweiler remains committed to retaining the area’s top industry talent. The result: homeowners and builders alike can be assured of a job well done.

Owens Corning Certified Energy Expert professionals distinguish themselves from the competition by the following:

  • Stringent building science training and certification: To achieve certification in this program, insulation contractors and their employees are required to undergo rigorous training in a variety of areas – including building science, thermal performance, moisture prevention, air infiltration, ventilation and auditing for maximum energy efficiency. Training courses developed by Owens Corning building science experts focus on installation techniques for maximizing energy efficiency and acoustics using fiberglass insulation along with air sealing, air barrier and commercial applications. CEEs are also trained in advanced building science, building codes and standards, quality assurance and Energy Star/Department of Energy programs.
  • Reliable and trustworthy: Beyond the training requirements, contractors also must meet other criteria to qualify for CEE certification. From maintaining a clean Better Business Bureau record to providing both professional and customer references, CEEs must illustrate reliable and trustworthy business practices. Additionally, all CEEs must undergo annual third-party audits of their office operations and field workmanship to ensure the highest levels of internal and jobsite quality. 2

  •  Fewer callbacks: Certified Energy Expert professionals have the sophisticated industry knowledge and skills to do the job right the first time, every time to give peace of mind to builders and homeowners.
