Raths, Raths & Johnson, Inc. (RRJ), a national architecture, engineering and forensics consulting firm headquartered in Willowbrook, Illinois is pleased to announce the promotion of George R. Mulholland, S.E., P.E., Sarah K. Flock, NCARB, BECxP, CxA+BE, and Patrick E. Reicher, S.E., REWC, REWO, CCS, CCCA to Principals. The promotion of these new Principals is part of the leadership expansion of this 53-year old forensic consulting practice. As Principals, they will provide project leadership across the firm's expert architectural and structural engineering consulting services and client development to support the firm's strategic growth and market diversification.

George's forensic structural engineering career spans over 30 years at RRJ. He has provided project leadership and management of structural and building enclosure evaluation, field investigation and testing, and remediation design of a vast portfolio of distressed facades, buildings, and structures, as well as litigation support on related construction and design failures. He consults in many areas providing expertise in structural peer review, structural analysis, repair design, construction quality assurance programs, and expert witness testimony.

He serves in leadership roles of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) as Chairman of both the Structural Condition Assessment and Rehabilitation of Buildings Committee and the Structural Condition Assessment of Existing Structures Subcommittee. He serves as a Secretary of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), Chicago Chapter, and a member of the Building Code Committee of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). He is also an active member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI). George is a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois and a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and South Carolina.

During Sarah's 16-year architectural career at RRJ, she has developed recognized expertise in exterior wall systems' water leakage, condensation, and moisture intrusion investigation and resolution, with a specialization in thermal performance and computational analysis of building enclosure systems and components. She consults in the areas of exterior wall systems investigations, thermal modeling, building enclosure consulting and commissioning, and litigation support of related water leakage and moisture intrusion problems.

Sarah is active in several professional organizations and speaks and writes on building enclosure thermal performance and condensation issues across the industry. She serves on multiple ASTM International committees and is a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Technical Research Committee for the Air Barrier Association of America (ABBA). She is also a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Building Enclosures Council-Chicago (BEC-Chicago), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), Exterior Design Institute (EDI), American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), and the Apartment Building Owners and Managers Association (ABOMA). She is a licensed Architect in Illinois, Iowa, South Carolina, and Wisconsin, a certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider (BECxP), and a certified Commissioning Authority + Building Enclosure (CxA+BE).

Patrick has over 14 years of experience as a project manager of building enclosure and structural forensic investigations, evaluations, and repair design programs; and building enclosure consulting and commissioning for new construction projects. Since joining RRJ in 2016, he has provided project leadership and client development of numerous large-scale building enclosure consulting projects for healthcare systems and higher educational institutions, and has managed a vast range of facade investigations and remedial design projects of recently constructed to aging structures. An expert in diagnostic and field quality control testing protocols, he consults on the areas of exterior wall and roofing systems, field quality control testing, and remediation design.

Patrick serves in directorships and several committee roles at the national and chapter level of RCI, Inc. (Institute for Roofing, Waterproofing, and Building Envelope Professionals) and the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA). His other professional memberships include the Building Enclosure Council of Chicago (BEC-Chicago), the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and the Apartment Building Owners and Managers Association (ABOMA). He is an Illinois licensed Structural Engineer, and is certified as a Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC), Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO), Certified Construction Specifier (CCS), and a Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA).
