WOOD FIBER ACOUSTIC PRODUCTS

CONWED

Arborcoustic is a wood fiber acoustic product. It provides strong acoustic performance while remaining environmentally conscious. The company uses water, cement and FSC-certified wood. Cement is the binder that provides strength, moisture-resistance and fire resistance. And the FSC certification guarantees that the wood can be traced back to responsible forestry operations. For more information, visit conwed.com/products/arborcoustic.

NON-COMBUSTIBLE SHEATHING PANEL

MARINO\WARE

Sure-Board Series 200S is a non-combustible floor sheathing panel that improves quality and increases efficiency during the installation on residential or midrise load-bearing projects. The finish product prevents the need to work over uneven corrugated deck, or have to bear the delay of pouring and finishing each level if you have been using a deep pan-deck system. These delays may be eliminated and production increased at no additional cost. The installation of the panels does not require any new installation techniques for the field staff. Since the current methods and practices for installation are the same as those used for decades for plywood and OSB panels, the user has an advantage of eliminating blocking and creating a great non-combustible structure for the future. For more information, visit marinoware.com.

INTERIOR, TYPE X GYPSUM PANELS

PABCO GYPSUM

PABCO Glass Interior Type X Gypsum Panels are comprised of a mold- and water-resistant gypsum core encased in a glass fiber mat. The glass panel offers greater moisture resistance and improved dimensional stability compared to standard gypsum board. The product performs strong for mold resistance, the highest rating when tested in accordance to ASTM D3273 Standard Test Method for Resistance to Growth of Mold on the Surface of Interior Coatings in an Environmental Chamber. It is ideal for pre-rock construction, as it withstands extended exposure to normal weather conditions up to one year without compromising product performance. Available in 5/8-inch Type X, fire-resistant and 1/2-inch Regular for use in non-fire rated construction. For more information, visit pabcogypsum.com.

ADVANCED DRYWALL FINISHING SOLUTIONS

VOLTERRA ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTS

The company offers ArmourTone, an advanced line of drywall finishing solutions. The products are cost effective, low maintenance, acrylic surfaces and finishes with exceptional abuse resistance. This line includes ArmourFill, a high-build, spray-applied Level 5 product that features a “no-touch” surfacer, tintable primer or finish. The ArmourJoint taping and finishing compound (a knife/trowel applied finish) reduces sanding. For more information, visit volterraproducts.com.

ACOUSTICAL SUSPENSION SYSTEMS

CERTAINTEED CEILINGS

The EZ Stab Acoustical Suspension Systems offer innovations that result in greater installation flexibility and speed, along with maximum strength and superior torsional rigidity. The new generation of EZ Stab acoustical suspension includes five new systems. The patented Latitude Holes are spaced every 3 inches at the top of each tee to allow for more flexible hanger wire options and increased installation speed. Additionally, a redesigned EZ Clip allows for lower insertion force and easier removability after installation, without destroying the clip or slot. This adds to the product’s longevity. For more information, visit certainteed.com/ceilings-and-walls.

HEMP FIBER INSULATION

HEMPITECTURE INC.

HempWool is a high-performing, long-lasting insulation derived from 92 percent industrial hemp fiber. DEFLECTOR SCREWS

SIMPSON STRONG-TIE

The SDPW Deflector Screw makes a connection that slips on demand with vertical displacements of the floor or the supporting ceiling joist or truss chord while providing resistance to horizontal forces in the F2 direction. When installed, the screw connects the non-load-bearing partition wall with a gap between the top plate of the wall and the supporting joist or truss. The product also includes a head offset from the bottom of the top plate. The gap between the top plate of the wall and supporting joist or truss is intended to prevent the wall for taking gravity load from the supporting joist or truss. The screw installed with the gap and head offset accommodates the upward and downward differential movements of the supporting joist or truss with seasonal moisture fluctuations and loading changes, as well as movements due to floor load changes, exterior wall shortening and building settlement. For more information, visit strongtie.com.
