Fireshield Veneers
October 25, 2023

Fireshield Veneers

Garnica

Garnica has created a revolutionary line of machinable plywood called Fireshield, sourced from sustainable European farm-grown poplar. Their Fireshield veneers are individually soaked in a proprietary treatment before they’re dried, glued and compressed to create plywood panels, ensuring they can be sanded or machined in any configuration and still retain their fire-retardant rating of one hundred percent. These treated plywood panels range in size from 4-feet by 8 feet up to 5 feet by 10 feet. Fireshield plywood does not burn and meets the highest fire regulations in the industry: ASTM E-84 Class A and CAN/ULC S102-10. For more information, visit garnica.one/en-us/plywood-boards/range/fireshield-plywood.

Universal Fireproofing Patch by Vellrath Group

Universal Fireproofing Patch was designed to make patching damaged fireproofing easy, compliant, and cost effective. Superior adhesion, cohesion and density. The product is certified by Intertek as a trowel-applied patch and tested by UL as an SFRM and is classified by UL for use in UL's Design Y737 (Product IQ). UFP successfully meets the requirements of ASTM E 84, ASTM E 119, and UL 263 as an SFRM. UFP tested compatible with both fiber and cementitious—with low- and medium-density applications—and has a 3-hour burn time. The product is easy to apply and to clean up. Intumescent Firestop Foam

Intumescent Firestop Foam

RectorSeal

Blaze Foam is a compressible intumescent firestop foam. The product is designed for dynamic and static head-of-wall, wall-to-wall, and bottom-of-wall joint applications. With an easy one-step installation process, it requires no mechanical fastening. It’s not affected by temperature and enjoys a 10-year shelf life. The product is the ideal choice for installation within fire-resistive joints with up to 2-hour F rating with a dynamic movement up to 50 percent compression and 100 percent extension capabilities for a maximum joint width of 1/4 to 1 inch. L.B. Hall Fireproofing

Spray fireproofing is a method that applies specialized materials onto structures like steel beams to enhance their resistance to fire. It slows heat transfer, providing crucial time for evacuation and firefighting. Materials are sprayed using specific equipment, forming a protective layer as they dry. This process is vital for passive fire protection, encompassing cementitious and intumescent types based on fire rating and substrate. Rigorous testing ensures efficacy and proper maintenance is essential for long-term durability. Adherence to regulations and expert guidance are pivotal due to regional variations. Fire-rated Defection Bead

Fire-rated Defection Bead

CEMCO

Super Seal-X is a permanently flexible fire-rated drywall accessory that takes the place of fire sealant and is ideal for vertical wall joints into exterior walls and dissimilar materials. It provides 1- and 2-hour fire-ratings for dynamic and static joints according to UL-2079 Fifth edition (for both standard and shaft walls) and is sound tested according to ASTM E90. The flexible gasket compresses with deflection movement to prevent cracking at the head-of-wall, bottom-of-wall, or vertical wall-to-wall joints. The product is available in white or solid black for use in exposed areas. For more information, visit cemcosteel.com.
