Fireshield Veneers

Garnica

Garnica has created a revolutionary line of machinable plywood called Fireshield, sourced from sustainable European farm-grown poplar. Their Fireshield veneers are individually soaked in a proprietary treatment before they’re dried, glued and compressed to create plywood panels, ensuring they can be sanded or machined in any configuration and still retain their fire-retardant rating of one hundred percent. These treated plywood panels range in size from 4-feet by 8 feet up to 5 feet by 10 feet. Fireshield plywood does not burn and meets the highest fire regulations in the industry: ASTM E-84 Class A and CAN/ULC S102-10. L.B. Hall Fireproofing

Spray fireproofing is a method that applies specialized materials onto structures like steel beams to enhance their resistance to fire. It slows heat transfer, providing crucial time for evacuation and firefighting. Materials are sprayed using specific equipment, forming a protective layer as they dry. This process is vital for passive fire protection, encompassing cementitious and intumescent types based on fire rating and substrate. Rigorous testing ensures efficacy and proper maintenance is essential for long-term durability. Adherence to regulations and expert guidance are pivotal due to regional variations.
