Berry Global Group, Inc. announced Sept. 25 that it is expanding warranty protection for its Canadian building wrap customers, offering a five-year product and labor warranty for its TYPAR.ca housewrap. The new warranty replaces a 10-year limited warranty covering the product only. Coupled with TYPAR Construction Tape — which received approval from the Canadian Construction Materials Centre last year — Canadian builders and contractors now have access to a complete, cost-effective system of weather protection products covered by the industry’s best warranty.

“TYPAR.ca has always been a valuable and economical option for defending homes in Canada’s often unforgiving climate,” said Andrew Irvine, product manager at Berry Global. “With our new five-year product and labor warranty, our customers can now enjoy a greater peace of mind previously only available with more premium building wrap products.”

Engineered for Canada and ready for anything, TYPAR.ca is designed not just to meet code, but also to outperform other wraps on the market. Toe-to-toe against the competition, TYPAR.ca packs three times greater tear strength, 50 percent longer UV resistance and a better balance of water holdout and breathability than other housewraps. Plus, it is backed by a full system, including flashing and construction tape, all tested to work together as a complete weather protection system.

With more than two years in development, CCMC-approved TYPAR Construction Tape installs fast, sticks tight and packs plenty of versatility. Its pressure-sensitive adhesive grabs on aggressively and provides good adhesion to backing. TYPAR Construction Tape has been tested for optimal compatibility with the complete TYPAR Weather Protection System. The tape is both UV- and weather-resistant for outdoor applications up to 180 days, is mold- and moisture-resistant, and can be applied in cold conditions down to -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit).
