Centrally located on Manhattan, New York’s Upper East Side, the “Cos Club” is a full-service, private club serving its members and their guests as well as members of reciprocal clubs in the U.S. and abroad. Elegant and charming, the library is among the Cosmopolitan Club’s most popular rooms. The perfect backdrop for book discussions, receptions and dinners, it is also favored by many hosting smaller, more intimate affairs. Two lovely, seasonally planted terraces flank the library. Each offers a different, and spectacular, view of Midtown or the Upper East Side.

The library contains biographies, fiction, history, poetry, books on the arts, travel and New York City, as well as the Skinner Theater Collection. There is a special section for books written, illustrated or edited by members. All members enjoy the privilege of borrowing these books.

EverGreene was responsible for refurbishing/refinishing wood, marble and gilded finishes at the beautiful Cosmopolitan Club Library. The objective of wood treatments is to preserve the patina of the woodwork, remove incongruous repairs, re-integrate areas of finish loss and abrasions, and revive the consistency of the wood finish.

The re-gilding of the north wall reinstated its complementary finish to the gilded accents on the woodwork instead of the muddied, oxidized appearance it had before the work. The marble fireplace was also cleaned and restored.
