ConstructReach Brings Workforce Development Event to St. Louis
Hands-on construction experience connects local students with career pathways and industry leaders.

Construction industry workforce development initiative and consultancy ConstructReach will host its signature ‘I built this!’ event on September 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Murphy Construction warehouse facility at 1400 N. Price Road. The event invites local high school students to engage directly with construction professionals, explore career opportunities, and participate in hands-on activities that bring the building process to life.
Through interactive demonstrations, site tours, and mentoring conversations, students will learn about the wide range of skilled trades and professional roles within the construction sector. Participants will also gain insights into scholarships, internships, and apprenticeship opportunities available through ConstructReach’s national network of general contractors and corporate partners.
“St. Louis is our home base, and we’re excited to bring the ‘I built this!’ experience back to the community where ConstructReach began,” said Paul Robinson, founder and CEO of ConstructReach. “This event gives young people—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds in the industry—the chance to discover that construction offers rewarding, innovative, and impactful careers. With more than half of skilled trade workers nearing retirement, we need to inspire and equip the next generation today. If not, there will be a significant infrastructure crisis nationwide. That’s why ConstructReach is focused on training—building skills to communicate across generations, bridge differences, and strengthen cross-functional teams; community engagement like this event; and recruitment and retention support.”
Local and national partners and sponsors—including Novak Construction, Concrete Strategies, O.J. Laughlin Plumbing, Vision Electric, and Murphy Mechanical—will be at Murphy’s Fabrication regional location on N. Price Road in St. Louis to guide students through real-world activities, from electrical wiring demonstrations to flooring and fixture installation. Snacks and boxed lunches will be provided for all participants.
Since launching in 2018, ConstructReach has united almost 4,000 students, 200+ industry partners/brands including Target, Nordstrom, and Walgreens, and 300-plus educators nationwide through similar events in cities including Miami, Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, and Houston. By increasing visibility and access to construction careers, ConstructReach works to diversify and strengthen the industry’s workforce pipeline.
