The 14th Annual Walter F. Pruter Project of the Year Awards recognizes projects that exemplify the union construction work of the Western Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association contractor members and their partners.
One of the most prominent offsite construction award programs, the Building Excellence Awards showcase the projects that best demonstrate the design flexibility, long-lasting energy performance and resiliency of SIPs.
The panels were used as exterior wall cladding on this 166-foot-tall building consisting of 10 stories (a two-story base, and an eight-story tower). They were installed by Tuschall Engineering of Burr Ridge, IL, and the architects for the project included Diller Scofidio + Renfro of New York City, and Brininstool + Lynch of Chicago. This project was the first-place winner in ATAS’ 2020 Project of the Year competition, in the commercial walls category.
The awards acknowledge outstanding achievement in creative design, technical innovation, and best practices in the use of cold-formed steel and recognizes individuals who have volunteered significant time and talent to the cold-formed steel industry.
Trahan Architects announced that its founder and CEO, Victor F. “Trey” Trahan, III, FAIA, has been selected as the 2021 Laureate for The American Prize for Architecture by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
