Years ago, it was referred to as the "Jewel of the Jersey Shore." First developed in the 1870s, Asbury Park, N.J., had become a firmly established resort in the early 20th century. Yet, as it has happened with so many other coastal, tourist areas, Asbury Park has long since lost its sparkle. Now, Asbury Partners LLC is working closely with the city of Asbury Park as a master redeveloper of the area to breathe new life into this historic city.
Question: When plastering over a basecoat, how do you stop the smooth coat finish from drying so rapidly? Also, if you notice a bubble or blister while applying the smooth coat, what is the best way to deal with these problems?

PrimeSource Building Products Inc. announced it is acquiring Pacific Steel and Supply, one of the largest independent nail distributors on the West Coast. The parties expect the transaction to close in late September.
The Saddle Creek Corp., a third-party logistics company, needed an industrial warehouse site for the storage and delivery of dry and canned food products. The company located an ideal facility in Winter Haven, Fla., but the 295,000 square-foot building needed to be upgraded to ensure the facility could meet strict sanitation guidelines before it could utilize the location for the storage of everything from sugar to coffee.
If historical building trends play out the rest of 2006 and into 2007, the remodeling sector should boom and bring with it a flurry of new activity for the drywall industry. Ah wind loading, one of my favorite subjects. The IBC defines "hurricane-prone regions" as areas subject to basic wind speeds greater than 90 miles per hour, such as the East Coast. The code also defines a "wind-borne debris region" as an area hurricane-prone where the basic wind speed is 110 mph or greater. The code states that if a building is located in a wind-borne debris area, the window glazing must be impact resistant or protected by an impact resistant covering.
One of gypsum board's many qualities that make it the most popular material for partitioning interior spaces is its inherent sound attenuating properties. Gypsum board contains sufficient mass to inhibit most low frequency sound waves and has sufficient resiliency to inhibit sound waves at the higher frequencies. In other words, gypsum board reduces the sound passing through it at both ends of the frequency spectrum.

I still operate a small drywall company and most days I am out in the field hanging and taping board. In addition, I do training throughout the year at trade shows and of course still write articles pertaining to the drywall industry. This business is working out real good. I find out about new products, sometimes even before they are out in the market. I field test and sometimes demonstrate a company's tool or various products.
In June 1965, the Rolling Stones released, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction." Careless subcontractors may get no compensation if an owner does not pay the contractor or delays the project.
