The Steel Deck Institute announced the launch of its new and expanded website with added functionality and information that will make using steel floor and roof decks easier and more economical. The official launch date for the new website was Sept. 5.

The American Iron and Steel Institute has published AISI D250-23 (Thermal Design and Code Compliance Guide for C-Shape Cold-Formed Steel Framing in Building Envelopes).

The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council announced Sept. 27 that Wanhua Chemical (America) Co., Ltd’s WANNATE 9131FC has won the 2023 Polyurethane Innovation Award.

The American Iron and Steel Institute has updated AISI S310 (North American Standard for the Design of Profiled Steel Diaphragm Panels). The standard, first published in 2013, provides design provisions for diaphragms consisting of profiled steel panels, which include fluted profiles and cellular panel profiles.

National home remodeling company Great Day Improvements, LLC, announced that it has acquired Florida-based Home Performance Alliance, a remodeler working in the roofing, window replacement and bath remodel space. Great Day Improvements jumped to No. 3 nationally on Qualified Remodeler’s 2023 annual HIP 200 list of top Home Improvement Pro companies.

According to a report released Sept. 26 by Procore Technologies, Inc. and the Associated General Contractors of America, 78 percent of civil and infrastructure construction firms expect their project backlog to increase or remain the same over the next year as new federal infrastructure funding ramps up.

On Dec. 19, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration released its 2022 data on occupational fatalities, which showed an overall increase of 5.7 percent and that the construction and transportation industries had the highest fatality rates.

Berry Global Group, Inc. announced Sept. 25 that it is expanding warranty protection for its Canadian building wrap customers, offering a five-year product and labor warranty for its TYPAR.ca housewrap. The new warranty replaces a 10-year limited warranty covering the product only.
