Ware Malcomb announced on Aug. 8 the promotion of Kourtney Pennycook to studio manager of interior architecture and design in its Atlanta office. The firm concurrently announced that Lauren Leyrer, P.E., has joined the Atlanta office as civil engineering manager.

Ware Malcomb announced Aug. 6 that Jamie Gaan has joined its Pleasanton, California office as studio manager of architecture. In this role, he will help lead the growth and management of the architecture studio and focus on client relationships and business development.

Architecture and art integration firm Svigals + Partners is advancing its award-winning designs and quality client service with the promotions of key staff members. In addition to two newly named associate principals, architect Brian Stancavage and director of marketing and business development Cheryl Hart, three team members have moved into associate positions.

National nonresidential construction spending increased by 0.4 percent in December, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data published Feb. 1 by the U.S. Census Bureau. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $1.174 trillion.
